Paul and Tatiana's Wedding
Classical elegance! Paul and Tatiana shared the most beautiful day with family and friends at Poachers Pantry .
When I first met with Paul and Tatiana as their wedding celebrant we chatted about their thoughts and dreams. They spoke about their vision for their wedding, and family was a strong theme which came through. They chose Poachers Pantry as their venue because of the stunning grounds as well as the fabulous food which they would all enjoy at the reception. They wanted a relaxed day and a celebration of their love story … and it is a love story worth celebrating!
They decided on an 11 am wedding followed by lunch, an intimate gathering of the people closest to them. Tatiana’s parents had visited from overseas in the months leading up to their wedding and so had been involved in some of the planning and preparations. A lunchtime wedding meant an early start, but it gave them all day and evening to celebrate with their family and friends, which was important given how far some had travelled.
Poachers Pantry has several options for wedding ceremonies, and Paul and Tatiana planned to marry under the gorgeous tree out the front of the homestead, however, the weather changed that plan. The benefit of a venue such as Poachers Pantry is that a wet weather option is inbuilt into planning. The wonderful team had set up the two options, waiting to see what the day would bring.
The marquee, which was Plan B was equally as gorgeous, looking out across the gardens with a backdrop of trees, plants and the hills in the distance. Paul and Tatiana’s guests were comfortable dry and warm rather than sitting under umbrellas or bravely enduring drizzle.

While it was a difficult decision to make to go to the wet weather plan, putting it into play was easy, and I was able to show Tatiana a photo of how beautiful the marquee looked before the ceremony which she commented afterwards relaxed her. Her worries subsided. Reducing any stress I can is an important part of my role as a celebrant.
When I arrived Paul and Tatiana and their wedding party were busy with their first look photos with their fabulous photographer, Jenny Wu They made the most of the wonderful options around the venue, and worked around the light rain and mist. If it rains on your wedding day, as your wedding celebrant, I have you covered … with clear umbrellas you can borrow, as do many photographers. Paul and Tatiana and their wedding party were kept nice and dry and the umbrellas look great in the photos!
There are many ways your wedding vendor team can create magic on your wedding day, from the photos to maximising outlooks during your ceremony, to explaining why people say rain on your wedding day is lucky. We will all work together to make sure rain doesn’t spoil your special day – but a plan b is important!
Family was an important feature of Paul and Tatiana’s ceremony. Tatiana was walked in by her brother representing her father and standing beside her was her daughter and sister in law. Next to Paul was his son. It was a clear statement about the importance of family.
Listening to couples exchange their vows is always a beautiful moment, filled with love and often laughs. Paul took his vows to the next level by finishing in Russian, Tatiana’s native language. It was a testament to his commitment to Tatiana and her heritage.
Jenny’s photos are stunning and really capture the classical elegance of this beautiful couple. Looking through their gallery it is hard to choose just a few favourites – there are too many!
Paul and Tatiana’s family and friends enjoyed a delicious lunch in the restaurant at Poachers Pantry before heading off to keep partying. DJ Renkun got the party happening at The Duxton O'Connor!
As their wedding celebrant I was privileged to be part of such a special day for an amazing couple with a truly wonderful love story.
