Nazia and Curtis Wedding

Nazia and Curtis didn’t want a big wedding, but having a simple ceremony doesn’t mean that your day can’t be special! They focused on what was most important to them and started planning from there. Their photos show what a fabulous day it was, they speak for themselves!

Connecting from Overseas

For much of our planning and preparation time, Nazia was overseas, so we communicated by video or email, organising everything and planning. Curtis was in Australia and so I could get him to complete the Notice Of Intended Marriage (NOIM), the first of the legal documents you must complete to be married in Australia. I knew that Nazia was aware of and intending to get married when she was in Australia, and so would sign the document after Curtis. The legal component is critical, something, as your celebrant, I will work with you on, exploring the different options available if you are overseas, to see what suits your situation best.

Location

When we first spoke, Nazia and Curtis had a date, but not a location. They spoke about the type of setting they wanted and what they wanted to achieve in their photos. With the help of family, they found a perfect place, where they had use of the house and the beautiful garden. It gave their family a getaway, enjoying time together as they celebrated Nazia and Curtis’ wedding.

The open space was perfect for Nazia’s preparations, providing her makeup artist with fabulous lighting.

The gardens of the home were perfect for the whimsical look photos that had caught Nazia’s attention. As their wedding photographer, Michael Taylor was able to create the lasting memories they wanted.

The different areas around the garden created different looks and backdrops for their photos with only a minimal walk. While Nazia and Curtis wandered with Michael, the family were able to start celebrating.

The Ceremony

Nazia was escorted in by her soon to be father-in-law and family were ready to help with Nazia’s bouquet (and other wedding dress adjustments 😉).

Nazia and Curtis focused on their personal vows as the special moment in their ceremony. They had ordered special vows booklets, a lasting memento of their wedding day and the promises they made to each other.

Nazia and Curtis’s wedding day was exactly what they wanted. In working with them as their weddign celebrant we prepared their wedding, it was clear they knew what was important to them and they worked to explore options that achieved their dream.
