Amber and Ethan's Wedding
The sun was shining and the sky was a beautiful blue as family and friends gathered for Amber and Ethan’s wedding at The Howling Moon. They’d fallen in love with the venue the moment they saw it. With its sweeping views across the city and out to the mountains, the backdrop was stunning while still creating the small and intimate feeling they wanted for their special day.
When I first met with Amber and Ethan, it was obvious family was going to play an important part in their ceremony. As their wedding celebrant we discussed options and ideas. Their two nieces were an important part of their planning, and given their age we agreed that, while they were the flower girls, they would do what they wanted during the ceremony. They wandered and played happily, moving between their parents (some of the wedding party) and grandparents.
Amber chose to make her entrance coming up the steps to the Howling Moon, meeting her mother at the top of the staircase.
As a marriage celebrant, I know that the time as you first stand together in front of your family and friends is so important … and there is no need to rush. Amber and Ethan took it all in, chatted to each other and savoured that time. Michael Taylor captured some beautiful moments and exchanges.

Amber and Ethan included a sand ceremony within their wedding, creating a beautiful memento of their day symbolising their uniqueness joined together, forever intertwined. They poured their individually coloured sand into their commemorative container just before exchanging vows.
As a marriage celebrant, I always love the unexpected moments that photographers capture. One of my favourites from this gallery is the sepia shot of Amber’s MoH helping arrange her dress. Michael Taylor caught that moment beautifully and being sepia gives a gorgeous timelessness.
For a reasonably small space, The Howling Moon provides a wonderful variety of backdrops for photos, which meant that Amber and Ethan didn’t need to move far to change the look and feel of their photos.
Canapes were served downstairs while the team reset the ceremony area for the reception dinner, again providing an easy transition for guests who didn’t need to travel anywhere between the different parts of Amber and Ethan’s day.
Amber and Ethan wanted their wedding to be a celebration of everything they’d achieved in their time together as well as their hopes and dreams for the future. It was a wonderful celebration of them, happy, easy, relaxed and focused on family and friends who had supported them on their journeys.
