Maddie and Adam's Wedding

When I first met Adam and Maddie I knew their wedding was going to be fun. Fun, family, including their young son, and Adam’s Greek traditions were all key.

The venue

Poacher’s Pantry was their venue. Which meant they had lots of options for the location of the ceremony as well as for photos … and, wet weather wouldn’t change plans significantly.

They chose the Homestead’s front garden area, with the wedding party standing under the tree for the ceremony location. The gorgeous arbour as you enter the garden was the perfect frame for photos of Maddie and her wedding party entering.

The Ceremony

Maddie and Adam’s young son was an important part of their wedding party alongside his cousin. As is often the case with kids, they had plans about what they wanted to do! With a little encouragement, some easy changes to plans (including walking in with grandparents) and a bit of luck the boys made a fabulous entrance, starting the ceremony in style.

There were laughs and a lot of love surrounding Maddie and Adam, but they also wanted to include a way to ease any nerves before their vows, so we included a brief time of reflection for them as a couple after the fun of sharing their love story. Then they moved seamlessly into their vows, focused on each other – the love of their life!

Capturing the moments

Maddie and Adam had a fabulous team capturing all the special moments of their wedding day. Their photographer Louise Grayson and videographer, Justine from Forget Me Knot Films took the pressure off guests and their dip kiss as they left the ceremony space was captured in a live painting by Art By Grace.

The Reception

The pavilion area looked stunning thanks to Sunshine Events As guests moved to the reception area while Maddie and Adam headed around the Poacher’s Pantry property for some special photos, they were greeted with a stunning set up for the receptions, quickly followed by tasty canapes and drinks.

MCing the reception

Maddie and Adam asked me to MC their reception, which was a fabulous way to continue the connection we’d made in planning their wedding. I chatted with them about what they wanted, and we worked out a plan for the reception (with Poacher’s Pantrycourse!) Once we had a plan, we could work out how long they really needed me – there is no reason to pay me to stay all night!

Maddie and Adam knew exactly what they wanted for their entrance and the vibe it created was a fabulous start to get their reception. They didn’t want a lot of interruptions as people partied, so the formalities were up front, early in the evening which meant once the dancing started – the party was in full swing. And yes … it began with Greek dancing, and most of their guests joining in even those who had no idea of the traditional dance.

Maddie and Adam’s wedding day was amazing on so many levels … from beginning to end!
