Kayla and Tye's Wedding

Some weddings feel special from the very first meeting, and Kayla and Tye’s was one of them. From the moment I met them and their beautiful boys, it was clear their day would be full of warmth, family and love — but also that it would be, first and foremost, about the two of them.

Kayla and Tye were thoughtful about including their sons and welcoming guests with children, without letting the day become centred entirely around the little ones. We planned ways for the boys to be part of the wedding ceremony in a way that suited their ages and personalities, and we made space for the kids to simply be kids — to move, play, step outside if needed, and come back when they were ready. That thoughtful planning gave Kayla and Tye the freedom to focus on what mattered most: each other. Their wedding ceremony was short, meaningful and beautifully relaxed, with plenty of laughter, a few tears, and that unmistakable feeling of being surrounded by people who truly love you.

They chose The Chapel At Gold Creek, which gave them the perfect mix of traditional and casual. The gardens and open space around the Chapel meant the children could run safely and freely, while guests could easily make their way across the road to the reception at The Manor.

After the wedding ceremony, Steve and Sharon from Blue Ginger Photography made the most of the Chapel’s stunning gardens for photos before heading off with the wedding party for more special moments. Meanwhile, guests enjoyed nibblies at a nearby café before the reception began.

As their MC, I helped Kayla and Tye keep the reception formalities simple and up front, so the relaxed afternoon and evening they wanted could flow naturally. Cake cutting, speeches, heartfelt words — and then the party was underway.

What stood out most was how clearly Kayla and Tye knew what mattered. Not the tiny details no one remembers, but their people — their family, their friends, their children, and the chance for everyone to feel comfortable, included and relaxed. It was a beautiful reminder that the best weddings are not about perfection; they are about love, connection and celebrating in a way that feels genuinely you.
